2 c jam
2 c sugar
2 1/2 c shortening
1 c buttermilk
1 Tbsp allspice
1 tsp baking powder
4 c flour
1 c nuts
1 c raisins
Filling
Mix jam, sugar, shortening, buttermilk, allspice, baking powder, flour, nuts, and raisins. Bake in 3 8-inch cake pans at 350° for 1 hour. Spread filling between layers.
Filling:
1 c sugar
1 c butter
1 c cream
1 c nuts
1 c raisins
Cook sugar, butter and cream to soft ball stage; add nuts and raisins.
